About the Role

As the HR Operations and Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring strong Human Resources governance and compliance across the People and Culture Branch. This position focuses on managing HR information, developing frameworks, and delivering projects that align with our People Plan and corporate priorities.

You will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive HR Governance Framework, including policies, guidelines, and standards.
  • Ensure centralised governance of HR content across employee-facing platforms, maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Deliver HR collateral and training to support the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Undertake research, analysis, and special projects to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare professional documentation including briefing notes, reports, and presentations.
  • Manage projects and supervise project staff as required.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, Council policies, and records management standards.

About you

You are a detail-oriented professional with strong governance, compliance, and project management skills. You thrive in dynamic and creative environments and have a passion for improving processes and delivering high-quality outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, Governance, Project Management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with legislation, policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and consult across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and corporate reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation, creativity and continuous improvement.
