About the Role

The Civil Asset Management branch provide high level maintenance, construction and asset management services for all road and related infrastructure assets (pavements, bridges, drainage, pathways and street furniture).


As Field leader, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to the Foreman to effectively manage allocated staff, plant and equipment and other resources and day-to-day operational issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and supervise designated tasks during the construction of various Council assets including roads, traffic islands, roundabouts, roadside furniture, stormwater drainage, footpaths and bikeways.
  • Assist designated Supervisor with supervision and coordination of works, including allocation of assigned staff and other resources.
  • Assist with leading and supervising of allocated staff.
  • Assist with ordering of plant and materials as required for allocated projects.
  • Liaise with designated Supervisor regarding work priorities within allocated projects.


About you

You will possess a Certificate III in Civil Construction and have demonstrated experience and the ability to coordinate the delivery of civil construction and maintenance functions or project-based activities without direct supervision.


You will possess previous experience involving Local Government construction and maintenance (or equivalent) work, including supervisory experience.


You will obtain a General Induction Construction Card or equivalent.


Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
