About the Role

Digital and Innovation Services branch delivers agile and transformative information and technology, enabling council to be a leader in providing innovative and sustainable services to its communities.

 

As a Records Management Support Officer you will provide a reliable and efficient recordkeeping service to Council Officers.

 

Key duties include:

  • Provide advice and guidance for effective records management to staff that support SCC’s legislative requirements
  • Conduct proactive health checks and develop quality assurance processes for records and document management systems
  • Develop and provide training to staff to enhance business accountability to complete accurate records management
  • Assist with the records management lifecycle process and the deployment of the records disposal process
  • Support the management of physical secondary storage and provide guidance to archives related activities

 

About you

As a records management professional, you possess significant industry experience in using an Electronic Document and Records Management System (eDRMS) or similar, ensuring strictest confidentiality. Candidates with specific knowledge of Council corporate systems and our eDRMS will be highly regarded for this role.

 

Your expertise in applying knowledge to records management, including secondary storage is essential to your success. As an expert in the field, your understanding of relevant legislation applicable to records and information management in the public sector is pivotal to this position. Complementing this, you are well-versed in researching to acquire understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.

 

Your interpersonal skills in building rapport within various organisational areas as well as ability to utilise assertiveness to solve issues which arise, will be highly utilised in this role.

 

Please note: This position does require a level of physical agility, fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out frequent bending and heavy lifting tasks. As such, appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical.
