About the Role

As Senior Wellbeing Health and Safety Programs Officer you Lead and deliver on an established program of works to ensure the Council’s Wellbeing, Health and Safety (WHS) system aligns with contemporary safety practice and performs its intended purpose In an average day you will:

  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing WHS systems, working closely with various departments to understand program requirements.
  • Undertake change management, preparing for the implementation of IS045001 equivalent safety management system and supporting all steps in the change management life cycle.
  • Organise and coordinate events and relevant consultation associated with the implementation assigned programs,
  • Advise on emerging trends in health and safety and assist in developing systems and processes consistent with contemporary and best practice approaches.


What you will bring to us

You are an experienced safety professional who has a passion and practiced expertise with applying contemporary safety theory. You will have the ability to positively influence and empower others. You’re at home within a large and diverse organisation and can demonstrate your experience designing and developing systems of work.


You will be a confident communicator who has the ability to inspire changes in behaviour. A forward thinker with strong project management and organisation skills, you will have demonstrated ability to develop plans, coordinate actions, gain cooperation and deliver outcomes.


As a requirement of this role, you will hold a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or relevant experience, preferably with a focus on contractor and construction management. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical assessment will be required ahead of an offer being confirmed.
