About the Role
Become a Senior Project Officer providing expert project management skills to the planning, development and delivery of specific urban design and open space projects that will support and align to council’s vision for the region..
Key Duties:
- Apply well-developed knowledge and experience to the initiation, scoping, planning, coordination, consultant / internal procurement and management, design and construction support of built environment, open-space and related projects (capital and operationally funded).
- Facilitate and ensure implementation of high-quality, cost-effective, and timely outcomes in:
- Master planning, specialist investigations and background reports, coordination and provision of technical advice, coordination of design and planning processes (concept design through to detailed design documentation packages)
- Planning and coordinating effective and inclusive processes for stakeholder management (internal and external)
- Planning and coordinating effective and inclusive processes for community engagement in accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Framework
- Provide project management expertise leading investigation and design teams (consultants and/or in-house project teams), for master planning, public realm and open space projects and other projects through all stages of delivery.
- Coordinate and manage input to the development of corporate projects by providing expert feedback on behalf of the Liveability and Natural Assets Group to various other council Departments and Branches.
About you
- You will have a recognised formal qualifications and extensive relevant experience in a built environment and/or project management discipline. Post-graduate qualifications and eligibility for membership of the applicable professional institute are desirable.
- You will have strong project management skills in coordinating and delivering complex projects and programs requiring high levels of consultation, integration, and negotiation to achieve successful outcomes often within a political environment.
- You will have experience in planning, leading, and managing design related and advocacy projects.
- You will have high level interpersonal and communication skills with particular emphasis in the areas of liaison, consultation, building effective relationships and teams, negotiation, conflict resolution and assertiveness with the ability to meet changing organisational needs within a diverse and political environment
