About the Role
The Sunshine Coast Council is looking for a self-motivated Natural Areas Manager who is able to lead a diverse team in the planning and delivery of Council’s operational programs for Reserve, Wildlife, Visitor, Asset, Fire and Environmental offset management in an ecologically sustainable, cost effective and safe manner.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Deliver innovative and sustainable environmental management programs for the region’s natural area estate, with recreational opportunities in mind.
- Lead an efficient, operational team and foster an encouraging and supportive culture.
- Through dynamic and innovative engagement programs, develop council’s environmental visitor education centres..
- Provide expert advice in relation to environmental services, operations and asset data for both natural and built infrastructure.
- Lead the development and delivery of an onground environmental offsets program, both internally and externally sourced.
- Develop and deliver innovative wildlife management programs.
- Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive, ecologically sustainable fire management program for council managed natural areas.

As a requirement of this role, you’ll have:
- Tertiary degree qualification in Natural Area Management, Resource Management or Environmental Science.
- Extensive and high level relevant experience and industry knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability in project management, financial management and human resource management.
- Strong decision making skills, communication skills, and the ability to work and collaborate with a range of people, internal and external.
