About the Role

The Finance Branch is responsible for the financial management and governance, ensuring effective

business management and legislative compliance.

 

Provide accurate and timely financial information and advice to support the organisation.

 

Group management accountant duties are as follows:

    • Establishing in-depth knowledge of the operations of client businesses.
    • Provision of accounting support to Group, Branch and Unit Management, the Coordinator Financial Services and Senior Management Accountants to facilitate the preparation of the annual budget and ongoing budget reviews in accordance with organisational timeframes and requirements.
    • Provision of ongoing advice on, budget allocations, budget reviews, job costing and operational and maintenance allocations.

 

      Capital management accountant duties as follows

    • Establishing in-depth knowledge of the capital works program.
    • Provision of accounting support to Group, Branch and Unit Management, the Coordinator Financial Services and Senior Management Accountants to facilitate the preparation of the annual budget and ongoing budget reviews in accordance with organisational timeframes and requirements.
    • Provision of ongoing advice on restricted cash, budget allocations, budget reviews and job costing.
    • Prepare reports for and liaise with external parties when compiling financial or project acquittals.

 

About you

  • You will uphold a tertiary degree/ qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • You will demonstrate experience in a management accounting position responsible for producing budgets, financial reports, financial analysis and forecasting.
  • You will have demonstrated proficiency in computer system applications, including integrated financial systems, databases, spreadsheets, and personal application software.
  • You will deliver highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate persuasively, engage in active listening, consult with a wide range of people at all levels of the Council, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
