About the Role

The Office of the CEO facilitates the achievement of good corporate governance practices and principles throughout council that reflect council’s vision and the expectations of the community. The branch provides expertise on a wide range of governance matters and supports council through the development of sound and transparent governance frameworks, practices and procedures.

 

As a Governance Officer – Corporate Governance, your duties will include:

 

  • Working under general direction, process applications in accordance with the provisions of the Right to Information Act and Information Privacy Act, ensuring relevant processes are followed and adequate record keeping of application processing is maintained on file.
  • Assist with the co-ordination and monitoring of document retrieval and information search requests forwarded to other Council departments in relation to Right to Information and Information Privacy applications, including the conduct of research and the collation and review of relevant information.
  • Assist with the administration, investigation and research of elevated customer complaint matters received through the General Complaints Management Process, including maintenance of the Complaints Management database, file management, establishment of cases and record keeping
  • Participate in administration functions relevant to the work area, including but not limited to responding to general enquiries, dedicated mail box management, internet and intranet page maintenance, fact sheet development and maintenance, record keeping, etc.
  • Provide professional advice to internal and external customers on matters pertaining to Right to Information applications, administrative access, Information Privacy and complaint management.

 

About you

You are a professional with qualifications (or working towards a degree) and significant experience working in governance, business, commerce, project management or related field; or significant experience.

 

You will possess high level interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to write concise and informative reports and letters.

 

You will have strong analytical skills covering situation appraisal, decision making, problem solving, risk management, and the ability to analyse data and trends
