About the role:
To manage all aspects of Quarry and Asphalt Production Services incorporating a total review of operations, efficiency and operating business model to enable recommendation of a future strategic direction to Council.
The Quarry operations provides quarry products for construction, architectural and landscaping purposes and consists of: Image Flat Quarry and Asphalt Plant, Dulong Quarry and various other active quarry reserves and future quarry reserves.
You will have extensive experience in quarry operations, hotmix production and contract management on a medium to large scale.
Strong business acumen and a proven track record in project and financial management, business development and human resource and change management.
Possess high level interpersonal and communication skills with a strong emphasis on building effective relationships and teams, in particular with key stakeholders, internal and external clients and relevant regulatory agencies.
Solid experience in developing budgets and providing sound financial management and associated reporting and maintenance of records.
Assist in the development of a thirty year quarry development plan to guide future council investments and directions.
Be a proactive and innovative leader to drive business and team performance, motivating staff to execute duties safely and efficiently in a cost effective manner.
Manage the business to comply with legislation, policies, guidelines and procedures.
Well developed consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Review, develop and maintain critical business support systems including OHS, quality assurance, product cost management, invoicing and inventory control and review all operations, plant, structures and operational activities.
Additionally, you will have a Bachelor Degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or other equivalent qualification and experience from a Mining or Quarries background.
