About the role:
To provide leadership and direction to the Team in the delivery of best practice, expert engineering advice and assessment on civil, hydraulic and traffic engineering aspects of development applications, ensuring contributed assets are delivered to Council to agreed standards and level of service.
You will have a proven track record of achievement in providing sound civil engineering assessment advice, developing innovative solutions to complex development and engineering problems and accurately interpreting and monitoring data to achieve positive outcomes.
Solid working knowledge and experience with legislation, regulations, standards, policies, planning schemes and relevant state government codes, including the Planning Act 2016 and SEQ Regional Plan 2017.
Strong leadership and management skills within local government or similar organisations and the capacity to mentor, coach and up skill team members to maximise the functionality of the team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills particularly in advocacy liaison, consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution.
Contribute to Council’s commitment to regional planning initiatives and actively participate in technical working groups.
Produce high level reports, briefing notes and information papers relevant to development assessment processes and performance reports for the Engineering and Construction Team.
Additionally, you will have a recognised degree/s in Civil Engineering and substantial appropriate experience with demonstrated application in the working environment. Qualifications must satisfy membership status of Engineers Australia and Queensland Board of Professional Engineers.
