About the role:
Manage the application process that contributes to the planning, design, construction and maintenance of ecological, landscaping and horticultural works complying with relevant standards and associated legislation. Promote a consistent approach for landscape assessment elements to achieve Council’s growth management and sustainability outcomes to customers and partners.
You’ll have demonstrated leadership skills that ensure you act as a senior member of a team by empowering, mentoring, coaching and developing staff on landscape and environmental issues, principles, practices and the development assessment process.
You will be an extremely analytical individual with highly developed time management, professional communication and interpersonal skills which will enable you to examine complex problems, develop innovative strategies and foster collaboration using a variety of methods in order to achieve results.
Substantial knowledge and understanding of Queensland land development principles and environment legislation pertaining to development and experience working with the relevant legislation, regulations, standards, polices, planning schemes and state government codes, including the Planning Act 2016 and SEQ Regional Plan 2017 will be vital in obtaining this role.
Additionally, you will have either, formal relevant qualifications/accreditations (Degree), or, equivalent demonstrated experience in planning, landscape architecture, recreation, natural resource managements, parks management, arboriculture, horticulture, with demonstrated application of such learning in the workplace.
